To All Berkeley Court Owners:

The first phase of the building project is near completion.  This phase included units 1, 2, 21, 22, 31 and 32 on the buildings right wing along Rutledge Ave.
Rutledge Ave scaffold removal will start next Tuesday/Wednesday.  Basement panels will be complete no later than next Tuesday.

The following is the schedule for Owners of units 9, 10, 20, 29, 30, 39 and PH1.

The schedule for window replacements is as follows:

Units 30 and 39  - Start Wednesday February 1st and complete by Monday February 6th.

PH1 – Start Tuesday February 7th and complete by February 10th.

Units 20 and 29 – Start Friday February 10th and complete by February 14th.

Units 9 and 10 – Start Wednesday February 15th and complete by February 16th.

All these dates are weather permitting.

The contractors will need to have access to the units no later than 8:30am each morning.

Please inform your tenants.  I have keys to access units 10, 20, 29, 30, 39 and PH1.  If you have changed these locks please let me know.

It is also important to know if your unit has Comcast cable and the cable connection is coming thru the windows or balcony doors this will be removed and you will need to contact Comcast to rewire the cable internally; If this is the case and you cannot wait for the entire building to be rewired by Comcast which will take about a month, then you can call Charles Yonkman 843-266-3094 – email: charles_yonkman@cable.comcast.com or Jessica Gebhardt Office: 843-266-3103 Cell: 843-605-3321 email: Jessica_gebhardt@cable.comcast.com with Comcast and they can do this on an individual basis for a cost to the owner of $250.00.

NBM will be removing all A/C units from the old windows in order to install the new windows.  The owner will be responsible for reinstalling any window units they previously had but please remember no alterations can not be made to the new window or frame, so if your old windows had to be altered in any way to accommodate the size of the unit you currently have, these units will not be allowed.
After the windows are installed the exterior of the windows will be repainted but any interior painting needed is the responsibility of the unit owner along with any drywall/plaster repair work that might need to be done.
I have attached the letter sent to the owners on December 14th 2011 for your reference.
I would like to thank everyone for your patience and cooperation during this project.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

The Charleston Police Department invites residents and merchants to complete an online Citizen Satisfaction Survey. We look at this survey periodically to evaluate citizen interaction with officers, dispatchers, records staff, and other members of the department. Please go to http://www.charleston-pd.org/ , click on the Citizen Satisfaction Survey on the home-page and follow the link. It only takes a few minutes.
Please forward to any neighborhood e-mail lists, church or business e-mail lists or other social media you may have access to with persons who might have had interaction with the Police Department over the last year.
Thank you,

Sgt. Shelor

Festival of Lights named among 100 best

Staff report
Published Dec. 27, 2011
The American Bus Association recently announced that the James Island County Park Holiday Festival of Lights has been named one of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2012 by a tourism industry selection committee.
The list, which was published as a supplement to the September/October issue of Destinations magazine, said that the Holiday Festival of Lights offered excellent entertainment value to tour groups and individual travelers from around the world, according to the American Bus Association.
The Top 100 Events selection committee chose the Holiday Festival of Lights based on the event’s broad appeal, its accessibility to motor coaches and skill at handling large groups and a variety of other relevant criteria
With more than 2 million lights, the three-mile driving tour delivers more light displays each year, with more than 700 displays produced this season. In addition to the driving tour, guests can park the car and experience attractions, including Santa’s Village, a 50-ton sand sculpture, annual gingerbread house competition, marshmallow roasting pit and a festival gift shop.
